Running from an external drive - FunkyMonkey - 04-06-2018

Hey there, pi noob here! Big Grin

I'm just wandering what the easiest way to get plexpi running from a hard drive is?

I've had a google and tried a few different ways today but none of them seem to get it working or it just comes up with an issue, so far the furthest I've manage to get is plex installed on raspbian all running off the hard drive but can't access plex for some reason just comes up with "This site can't be reached 192.168.1.125 refused to connect." i ran nmap and it says port 32400 is closed? i know its the right IP as it's the same one I used to SSH.

any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Wait, hold up! You found your way here, so that's great! Google appears to be working! But it sounds like you're going it alone rather than using our pre-built image!

Check out https://forum.category5.tv/thread-130.html

Start with that, then bump the thread to let us know if all the work I've put into it for you fixed everything and made all your Plex dreams come true!  Big Grin

Hope you enjoy.

PS - by using the image I provide (PlexPi) you get the benefit of hours and hours of hard work... and the issue you report has already been fixed for you.

Cheers,
Robbie
