Magic Databasing. - Robbie Ferguson - 04-09-2012

I created the importer to move all existing viewer accounts over to V3 without having to change passwords.

Just thought you'd be excited to know that. Smile

Now my username just needs to get changed to Garbee on the main site. :/

Loving what I see so far for the stuff tied to accounts though.

Thanks man. I'm very, very pleased that I was able to hack the database like that. It's coming along very quickly. I had no idea I'd be able to have V3 Logins in place. Figured that'd be a long ways off, as you know.

And to not lose ANY of the viewer accounts... that's amazing, since we're switching away from Joomla.

RE: Magic Databasing. - ajamison - 04-10-2012

Joomla is an open platform so you should have theoreticaly been able to see how they access the user system and just make some code to pull from that DB which it sounds as though you did.

I one-upped that and made an awesomer code. Wink

Hmm not sure how to think of this lol when it comes to code then yes I could be considered Naive but otherwise not so much.

RE: Magic Databasing. - Garbee - 04-11-2012

I mean naive since plenty of things can claim they are open when in fact they are not. Also, things can be put under any license, unless someone actually tries to enforce the license is another story...
