PlexPi & Wifi

Newbee to plex here but I have managed to get plexi up and running fine using the ethernet connection. Question is what do I need to install/do to get wifi working?
You mean to connect your devices wirelessly? This is just done through your LAN (eg., connect your phone to your home wifi and it will access PlexPi just fine). Using the WiFi built in to the Raspberry Pi is not supported (nor is it needed).

Did I help you out? Appreciate what I do? Please consider saying thanks:
I ran into the same problem. Lan is not an option for me on my TV/Raspberry pi setup. Very very frustrating that plex reopens even after i force close the plex server in task manager.

Anyhow Newbee, what i had to do was Ctrl/alt/del, which brings up the task manager, I finally figured out that if you right click on chromium's top memory user in the list...."terminate" NOT kill the process and it allows the desktop to be shown to allow wifi to be edited. once you lock in your wifi password, reboot or power cycle your pi. Wifi works. I was not able to stream anything while plex was getting all the meta data from the web for my library, but after it was done with that i was able to stream to 1 device without any problem.

Thanks for the build. Plex is working great. It would be nice if plex recognizes if internet is available or not, and opens up a dialog for you to enter a wifi password or investigate why internet is not there through lan.
New newbie...I'm looking for a way to take this device mobile, in the car for a roadtrip.  Allow all the kids to connect to this contraption and stream all the way to grandma's house.  I've see some other iterations but tutorials or instructions...fall a bit short for someone new to the arena of raspberry and plex.
Try this https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentatio...ess-cli.md
I am looking to do the same thing.  Just received Raspberry Pi 3 B+, 128 GB SSD and plan on using attached USB hard drive for media.

Once I finish setting up Plex and updating the OS I plan on trying the instructions here https://howtoraspberrypi.com/create-a-wi...raspberry/.

If that works I want to look for a script to turn it off and on, going to see if this works https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/qu...int-on-off.

My goal is to have this as main Plex Server at the house that can go mobile by just turning on hostspot, dhcp, masq and go portable. Then when returning how, turn it all off and run normal.

What kind of issues are you running into?
