Yeah, I use that same plastic case for my Pi 2. You mention the Eleduino not having "ventilation" - but that's the point - it (the case) is one giant heatsync. The aluminum case is meant to diffuse and dissipate heat more efficiently. That's part of why I love it. I'd be interested to see your temperature tests between the two and I would be surprised if the Eleduino was not cooler.
That's really neat how you're using your other Pi! I'm hard pressed to think of what I would do with such information, but I'll put it down to another one of those "Because I can" projects. Very, very cool.
