I ve just invested in a Pi3B for plexpi. The version of plexpi that is now available Version 3. 
But I cant seam to get it working, it displays a white overlay over the top of the desktop, which you can close with Alt-F4, this white screen appears to go away and plex is tried to run but fails. 
If I close this plex window Alt-F4 then I get the desktop. When trying chromium it cant find the internet, is there a way to setup Lan connection. Its all wired connection. 

I have found the 1.2 image of plexpi in the older version folder maybe that will work better, and report back.


EDIT:
Nothing has changed while trying 1.2 I have to be doing something wrong. I have opened up the terminal and can ping google
but chromium cant see the web.

Ok this was going no where so I downloaded a copy of Rasbian stretch and tried to follow the steps here.

I get as far as step 8 part three "sudo service plexmediaserver restart" 
This fails and running one of the commands it suggested to try to resolve it
systemctl status plexmediaserver.service    brings the following output.

Perhaps someone here who knows about such things can help with an answer.
This is all on a Pi 3 B.
